With this short story, my parents want to draw attention to the consequences of the man-made environmental disaster - the drought of the Aral Sea. Once the Aral Sea was the fourth largest lake on earth. Since Soviet times in the 1950s, large amounts of water were transferred from the main tributaries, Amudarja and Syrdaria, to irrigate cotton fields. Due to the lack of water inlet, the water level dropped steadily. By 2014, the southern part of the Aral Sea was completely dried up.
